Career Summary

After an early career managing farming interests in northern Victoria the past 40 years has involved the management of projects in mining and property development.  Exploration or mining programs have been directed in Australia, Fiji and West Africa.

Mr McLennan has access to many exploration and mining professionals in his efforts to identify opportunities and provides the vision and skills to achieve exploration success. 

​

With a focus on project identification and resource development. Managing project direction based on 40 years’ experience in senior management in the resource sector. Establishing of corporate structures, mining and business plans. 

​

He has ‘hands on’ underground and open cast mine development and production experience early in his career he has consulted to and/or held equity positions in Australian, West African and Fijian projects. 

​

Through his company direction he has successfully held and developed a portfolio of mining and exploration tenements. He holds operating under his Victorian Responsible Person - Mine Managers Certificate to manage underground mine development and tunnelling.

​

Broad mining industry experience and resulting extensive professional network that brings a capacity to effectively qualify the worth/potential of a project – plan exploration with a resource building focus. 

​

A career in minerals exploration and mining has, in recent years, been focussed on gold, tin, tantalum, and rare earth element exploration, principally in Eastern Australia.

​

His experience in resources in northeastern Victoria and northern Australia has provided an understanding of sound environmental management, including carbon management and consulting with Traditional Owner groups. 

​

Bruce conducted a Scoping Study which included an assessment of resource and large scale agriculture potential in the Kimberly, Western Australia, for the Traditional Owners of the Wunambal Gaambera Country.  It included areas with minerals prospectivity, vast cattle rangeland and, where soil-type and water permitted, agribusiness.

Engagements in recent years include: capital raisings for agriculture, mining and technology companies. He has a particular interest in waste water purification, environmentally efficient minerals recovery and Carbon capture/management.  Current activities include exploration in southeastern Australia and advisory roles on resources investment and development.

  • Exploration Skills: The identification of resource targets through innovative research/fieldwork; excellent prospecting skills.

  • Strategic project planning and direction supported through long standing professional associations and an extensive network of multi disciplined specialists.

  • An experience-based ability to bring underground mines into production with a back ground including shaft recommissioning, planning and development.

  • Mine Managers Competency Certificate (Victoria) supported by a good understanding of operational and OH&S issues.

  • Strong relationship building and communication skills; an ability to influence outcomes.

  • Time management skills enabling an execution of work programs under tight timelines.
